Auricular Electro Stimulation Therapy is a highly effective approach to non-narcotic pain management.
The ANSiStim ® is a wearable device that is designed to administer continuous pulses of low-level electrical current through three selectively positioned needles in the ear.
The ANSiStim ® is based on Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES). CES stimulates several neuro-chemical and physiological conditions that are known to relieve pain and depression. Relief is generated by the release of endorphins, the body’s natural opiates.

How is Auricular Electro Stimulation Therapy administered?
ANSiStim ® provides continuous low-level electrical pulses at the ear over four days. The stimulation is applied at a 3-hour interval over a period of 96 hours. The patient may carefully shower during this time, taking care not to get the ANSiStim ® wet. A new ANSiStim ® is applied on a weekly basis, by your physician, in our medical facility for the duration of the therapy. The number of treatments will vary depending upon the condition being treated and can range from as few as 4 treatments to as many as 12 weekly placements.
Is Auricular Electro Stimulation Therapy safe?
ANSiStim ® pain relief treatment is designed to be minimally invasive and has virtually no side effects.
What is HRV testing and is it safe?
In addition to the ANSiStim ® treatment, a Heart Rate Variability (HRV) test using the ANSiScope® Device is administered to quantitatively assess the patient’s level of autonomic dysfunction and autonomic nervous system (ANS) balance. Patient’s with chronic pain will have the ANS balance skewed towards the sympathetic, which promotes body action. As treatment with the ANSiStim ® progresses, the patient’s level of ANS balance will improved by moving towards the parasympathetic, thus prmoting body relaxation. The HRV test is also used to optimize placement of the ANSiStim ® needles.
